DogSheetz When Traveling, Bringing Home With You

Posted by Amy Hempe on

For any of us, traveling can spur anxieties. Never mind where we are actually going: a beach vacation, a trip to the mountains, or some other spot designed for our relaxation. The actual act of getting there can cause tension. We have to pack our things, leave other things behind, and generally cause a state of chaos in the days before the trip.

For our dogs, these trips can be no less anxiety-ridden. They know something is up and their world is about to be disrupted. They have little idea as to the destination since, rather unfairly in our opinion, dogs are not allowed to make travel plans. They can sense that things are a little out of whack.

Once you hit the road they may not be at ease either. Traveling with your dog is more of an art than a science. Keeping track of your pup’s needs while on the road requires a little more attention than they may normally require. Is she thirsty? Is she nervous? Is she ever going to stop trying to jump into my lap while I’m driving?

If DogSheetz are already in your dog’s life, you’ll love how handy they are when it comes time to travel. Whether it is the blanket or the dog bed cover, these can function both as a security blanket for your dog AND as a practical tool. The blanket can serve as a seat-protector in case your dog suffers from incontinence or car sickness. DogSheetz prevent any liquid from soaking through to material underneath. They wash very well in regular washing machines making them a low-maintenance item for some high-maintenance pups.

If you have the DogSheetz waterproof dog bed cover, take their cover with you so you can toss it into a crate or over a pillow to simulate their bed.  This will help them to settle down and be relaxed while you may have to leave them behind to go to an event.

Be sure to keep DogSheetz in your travel kit for your pups.  They can put your dog’s mind at ease as a reminder of home, and can put your mind at ease knowing that your car will be safe.
